Surviving El Salvador is a series depicting the unbridled joy intertwined with immense poverty and hardship living in the villages of El Salvador. From the striking misty mountains to the surfers' paradise of the sea, it’s hard to imagine how life could be so incredibly hard for those who call it home. My time was spent with orphans, providing medical care, and cooking in a meal center in one of the hardest areas of El Salvador. An overwhelming sense of vivacity and determination exuded from the people I had the pleasure of meeting. I wanted to showcase the beauty, resourcefulness, and tenacity that make up the people and land of El Salvador.
