Abandoned Abyss is a series exposing the hidden and forgotten places of the past. Growing up in Detroit, MI there was always an abundance of spots to explore and I was hooked. I love discovering and unearthing what is left after neglect and exposure to the elements. I am fascinated by the scraps left behind. Abandoned places are a magnet for striking graffiti art. Like walking into a covert museum of works that anyone can contribute if they find a way in. Over the years I have noticed that as technology advances, humans as a whole have become less attached to nature. And yet, in these deserted buildings nature sprouts through to reclaim what has been taken. My work takes on a voyeuristic display, revealing the beauty within the decay kept hidden from view.
